Below is a list of questions I commonly get asked by brides:
Can you give me a quote or prices over email?
Every wedding I do is unique and there are many factors that can affect prices. When I meet someone in person it is much easier for me to vision what it is they are wanting. A bouquet of roses for example can be designed in many different styles, all with different flower needs and labour costs therefore leading to different price points. If you would like to know how much to budget for my flowers I can send you my "price guide" via email. This is a helpful tool, but please note that I customise each brief to my clients needs, so I am happy to work within your budget. To receive an offical quote, I recomend meeting in person first. If you are living interstate of overseas I will try my hardest to give a thorough online quote, however I would recommend the next time you are in town (or at least as soon as you arrive for your wedding) we schedule an appointment to meet and ensure we are on the same page.
How long in advance should I have my wedding consultation?
This varies and is mainly determined by how excited the bride is to be organising her wedding. As a general rule between six to twelve months in advance is a nice time frame. I generally don’t like to see brides more than twelve months away as many things can change in that time.
I really want to book you in but I'm not ready to chat flowers yet, what should I do?
Ideally the stage in planning to meet with me is after you have sorted your date, venue and dresses, as these will very much affect what flowers we use. However, if you have your heart set on me doing your flowers, and are not yet ready to meet up. What I suggest doing is contacting me and letting me know a rough idea of what you will be looking for (how many bouquets, location and if there will be a reception set up etc), then we can organise a time frame in the future to meet. Depending on how far away your wedding is, a deposit may be required and I will hold the date for you until we meet.
Why are you not holding consultations for my wedding after June 2016?
I personally conduct all appointments. With so much momentum and interest in my weddings I need to focus on the wedding season ahead before turning to the next season. I also need to ensure that I will be fully committed when I take your appointment and for that reason don’t like to say what stage of life I will be at in 2 or 3 years time. If you send an email with an inquiry I will respond and rest assure as soon as I start holding consultations for the following year you will be the first I contact!
How many appointments will we need?
If after our initial appointment you are happy with all the details we discussed, we won’t need another appointment until three to four weeks before the wedding. If the main details are not settled or you would like change or further discuss aspects of the design we can meet as many times as you like. I insist on meeting with my brides around three weeks before the wedding. By then you usually have table numbers and delivery details sorted. We run through everything and make a final quote/brief for you. Meeting this close to the wedding also helps me refresh my memory of your personality and style, it also gives me a chance to discuss with you the quality and forecast of the seasonal flowers we may be using.
Do you charge a consultation fee?
No, our consultation is free and there are absolutely no obligations. It is for you to meet me and see if you like my style and ideas.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, after your initial consultation, I will hold the date for you for three weeks, if you would like to go ahead I ask for a $250 deposit to lock in the date for you. For bookings which total over $3000, I ask for a $500 deposit.
When do I pay my balance?
After our final consultation you will be given a final quote. You can pay the balance any time after receiving the final quote up to one week before the wedding.
Can I pick up my flowers?
I do insist on either myself, or one of my team members personally delivering all our flowers. This is the only way we can 100% guarantee that they turn up exactly perfect. On the day we don’t just drop and run. We take time to show you how to hold your bouquets, how to attach the buttonholes and if time permits (and it usually does) a few air kisses and a pose for the cameras. Basically, I see it through to the end. For small country weddings a family member may collect particular items on the day of the wedding if it is more convenient, but the same thing goes… we will give instructions on how to care for the items.
Do you charge for delivery?
Yes, I charge a very reasonable rate to deliver all my flowers, I will also set-up/display all ceremony and reception flowers. I can also go back to following day to dismantle and collect all the arrangements. I will run through my rates with you in my quote.
Do you charge GST?
Yes, all items quoted attract 10%GST.
How far will you travel for a wedding?
Being based in Watsonia in the north-east of Melbourne most of our weddings are in Melbourne metro or the Yarra Valley, however there are no limits as to how far we can travel.
